Quotations worth analysing
Short evidence. Real method.
“Mi asignatura favorita es el español porque es útil y mi profesora es paciente. Sin embargo, las matemáticas son más difíciles.”
One favourite, one porque, one teacher adjective and a comparative. That is a developed school paragraph, not a list of nouns.
“Empezamos a las nueve, tenemos un recreo y como en la cantina. Ayer hice un examen y el año que viene cambiaré de instituto.”
Present routine, preterite exam, future change. Three time frames without leaving school.
“Hay que llevar uniforme. Se debe llevar zapatos negros, pero no me gusta la corbata porque es incómoda.”
Hay que and se debe give the rule. Pero plus porque turns the rule into a justified view examiners can mark.

How do I talk about subjects without a vocabulary dump?
Name one favourite, one dislike, then justify both. Me gusta el español porque es útil y hablo con mi correspondiente. No me gustan las matemáticas porque son difíciles y hay muchos deberes. Articles matter: el español, las ciencias, la historia. Me gusta plus singular, me gustan plus plural. Add the teacher if you have words: Mi profesor es divertido, así que las clases pasan rápido. A past lesson proves a second time frame: Ayer hicimos un experimento en ciencias y fue interesante. That block slots under a school bullet, a photo of a classroom and a conversation question ¿qué estudias? without new grammar.

What does a school-day paragraph need?
Clock times, one transport sentence and one food or break detail. Por la mañana voy al instituto en autobús. Las clases empiezan a las nueve. A las once hay un recreo y como un bocadillo. Por la tarde tengo educación física. Termino a las tres y luego hago los deberes. Sequence with primero, luego and por fin if you are narrating. Keep verbs in the present for habits. If the bullet asks what you did yesterday, switch: Ayer tuve seis clases y comí en la cantina. Fue agotador. Examiners want a day they can follow, not a list of subject nouns with no times.

How do uniform and teachers lift the mark?
Rules need hay que or se debe plus infinitive: Hay que llevar uniforme. Se debe llegar a tiempo. Then give a view: Estoy a favor porque es práctico, or En mi opinión es injusto porque no podemos expresarnos. Teachers take ser plus a character adjective, not estar: es estricto, es comprensivo, es aburrido. Add a because: Me llevo bien con mi profesora de historia porque explica bien. Future plans belong here too: El año que viene haré un intercambio and quiero estudiar medicina, así que voy a trabajar más en ciencias. Uniform plus teacher plus plan is complexity from vocabulary you already know.

Me gusta el español porque es útil y mi profesora es paciente.. El español is singular so gusta. Porque plus a real reason and a teacher detail develops the idea. A noun alone is not a sentence.

Is colegio or instituto the right word?
Instituto is the usual GCSE word for secondary school. Colegio can mean school more generally. Do not use universidad for ages 11–16.
How do I say homework and a test?
Los deberes for homework. Un control or un examen for a test. Ayer hice los deberes. Mañana tengo un control.
Do I need se debe as well as hay que?
One obligation structure is enough if it is accurate. Hay que llevar uniforme. Se debe reciclar belongs more naturally to environment, but both are accepted for rules.
How do I talk about a teacher without being rude?
Keep it exam-safe: es estricto, es aburrido, explica demasiado rápido. You can still justify: no me gusta la clase porque hay demasiados deberes.
